About this Resource
The Eatwell Guide, produced by Public Health England, is a visual aid to show you what you should eat and drink to achieve a balanced diet, and in what proportions. It was published in 2016 to reflect UK government policy and replaces the previous Eatwell plate.

Grounded in the Research
“In the UK, Public Health England produced the ‘Eatwell Guide’ (EWG) as a ‘policy tool to define government recommendations on eating healthily and achieving a balanced diet’. From a health perspective, the EWG promotes, for example, cereals, potatoes, fruit, vegetable and fibre consumption, while recommending a limited consumption of sugar and processed meats. Adhering to these individual guidelines has been associated with several health benefits including improved cardiovascular health and reduced cancer risk.”
